- [math]\displaystyle{ f:\mathbb{Z}_2\to\mathbb{Z}_4,\quad f([n]_2)=[n]_4 }[/math]
그러면 [math]\displaystyle{ ([1]_2,[1]_4)\in f }[/math]이고 [math]\displaystyle{ ([3]_2,[3]_4)\in f }[/math]이다.
예를 들어, 집합 [math]\displaystyle{ A,B,C }[/math]에 대해 일반적으로
- [math]\displaystyle{ (A\times B)\times C\ne A\times (B\times C) }[/math]
따라서
- [math]\displaystyle{ A\times B \times C=(A\times B)\times C }[/math]
