센트 (cent)는 음정의 로그 단위로, 1센트인 음정은 진동수의 비가 [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt[1200]{2} }[/math] 인 음정을 의미한다.

센트의 개념은 17세기에 알렉산더 존 엘리스 (Alexander John Ellis)에 의해 제시되었으며[1], 12 평균율에서의 반음 ([math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt[12]{2} }[/math])을 로그 스케일 상에서 100등분한 것으로 정의했다. 이에 따라, 간격이 1 옥타브인 음정은 1200 센트, 12 평균율에서의 반음은 100 센트로 나타낼 수 있다.
진동수가 각각 [math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math], [math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math]인 음정의 간격이 [math]\displaystyle{ n }[/math] 센트일 때, 다음과 같은 관계가 성립한다.
